IMA Blood Bank of Uttarakhand is a 'not for profit' organization, NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals) certified and the only Blood Bank in the state that works on 100% Voluntary Blood Donations. Blood Donation camps are organized every day, Mobile Blood Collection Vans go to all corners of the city to meet blood donors at their doorsteps. The IMA Blood Bank is a state of the art blood bank with world class infrastructure, using Bar codes, robotic machines and fully integrated ERP software.

"खांसते या छींकते वक्त अपने मुंह को रुमाल या टिश्यू से ढंकें, अपने हाथों को साबुन से धोएं, अपनी आंख, नाक, मुंह को छूने में सावधानी बरतें। अगर किसी को खांसी, बुखार या सांस लेने में तकलीफ हो तो उससे कम से कम एक मीटर की दूरी बनाए रखें। जरूरत पड़ने पर नजदीकी स्वास्थ्य केंद्र जाएं।"

Donated Blood is tested and separated into components benefiting 3-4 patients
The shelf life of Blood components Red Blood Cells (PRBC), Platelet concentrate (PC) and Fresh Frozen Plasma (FFP) is 42 days, 5 days and 1 year respectively. The storage conditions these components is also different; RBC at 2 – 8° Centigrade, PC at 20 -24° Centigrade and FFP at -30 to -80° Centigrade. These components cannot be stored in normal household Refrigerators.
